~With all respect to Marlon Brando, the greatest Godfather of all time~
A couple of days ago, Wataniya contacted and told me that they’re suspending my Wnet service due to excessive downloading, which is causing a slowdown on other users on their network as well as abusing downloading limits. When I first signed with Wnet I asked like 500 times with very specific questions straight-forward style about the downloads policy since I’m a straight downloading guy, I own a net connection to download, not to chat. I told them that I’ll abuse it since there’s not limit policy and they said its fine. Read the contract hundred times, and according to them, they didn’t specify the fair usage policy, unlike Zain which also mentions it. After contacting Wataniya at their doomed building, I met a very bright operation manager who understood every point I’d mentioned here. I found out that over 5 months period, my download was around 140 GBs. Now, using math : 140 GB over 5 months period and applying the 30 GB per month policy means that they own me 10 GB!! He said that if I want, I can go ahead and cancel my subscription or keep it and wait for an official announcement regarding the new usage of the service since it has been suspended for almost 95 users that Wataniya claim were behind the slowdown and the shitty service they’re been delivering to users. Since I’ve moved in Al-Shuhada from Al-Salam and my HSDPA service has been shitty, almost a bar of service reception and unstable. Most of the time it switches to EDGE, the crappiest of all. I had to tweak the router so as to enforce it to connect using UMTS/HSDPA only. HSDPA works on a local area network using a cellular tower. Me, living in Al-Shuhada can’t affect somebody living in Um-Alhayman or in Qadsia.
Bullshit after bullshit, we, the users, are being abused from such organized crime as this but nobody wants to intervene to help and protect. False advertisement such as ”Unlimited Internet” means unlimited in every sense. What they actually mean in their contract is ulimited access to the net. Now, which fucking ISP in the country is charging per entry on a paid subscription? Are they fucking bullshitting us?
Till now, I didn’t get back again at Wataniya to see what’s up with them because I want to cancel the subscription from their side so I don’t end up paying fees for canceling the contract and I don’t want to pay for the shitty router which is totally useless. I’ve been without internet for like fucking a month now and it sucks. That’s the major reason why I’ve been out of blogging for a while. With Wataniya in target, we will continue to assault!

On Monday January 21st, I was honored and pleased to meet his highness The Crown Prince of Kuwait, The Prime Minister and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs in a delegation from my work that was headed by our minister Engr. Mohamad Al-Aleem and members from the Kuwaiti society of engineers to present their highness’ the award that was given to Kuwait for scoring first place in the GCC for creative projects on the Tarsheed project. We met at Al-Seif Palace and it was such blast! being there and seeing it from the inside and meeting their highness gave us a kick in the adrenaline! Meeting them and giving us recognition for our efforts meant a lot more than money and fame. Meeting them meant hope for a brighter future.
PS: I’m in the middle right between his highness and our minister, to make sure to be caught on camera!! We were also in Kuwait News that same night at 9 PM!!
Got it all on tape!

~No No No!! This is not a rant about Led Zeppelin, the greatest band on earth!!~
Prices are on the rise in Wasteland. City Center, for example, isn’t the first nor the last in the continuing series of greedy super-stores. Last time I was there, I found my daughter’s infant milk (Bebelac AR) priced at 2.150 kD!!!! I usually buy it at Co-Op’s for 1.550 KD! 600 Fils increment. Dilizia Pastry and sweet at Surrah raised a whole KD for a kilo of kanafa mabrooma, imagine that. I used to buy it for 3.500 KD and it went to 4.500 KD. A whole fucking KD! Fast food resturants are the same too. KFC raised since like 3 years ago almost 500-600 fils on all meals. The world is suffering bird flu and the fuckers sell chicken for +1.600 KD. Hardee’s, the shittiest place in USA where they give a free sandwich if you buy a one, followed the path of KFC, or should I say at the discretion of Amreicana, the mother company of Baskin Robins of the above mentioned. I used to buy value meals at Hardee’s at 1.100 KD or around 1.150 KD. Now they’re priced at 1.350 KD and more. WTF?McDonald’s is another case. You go into their drive-thru at S.Surrah for example to find the prices on the glass menu which is at the entry of the drive-thru listing their meals 1.300 KD. When you arrive at the Cash register, you’re asked to pay 1.450 KD or so. Now, what’s the deal? Who’s the running the scam here? In a free country in a free world you have the right to boycott and use all available media to ask your fellow citizens to do the same and expose those bastards. But since we’re living in a wasteland, no media is available for the true public. No one can fight the evil merchants here. These times are the times when we feel that we have gods in our wasteland, true gods made by uncle dinar. Question: Who can step up to the gods here?
PS: Join the Saudis in their fight against Greed in http://mqataa.com/, a forum that was made to expose the bastards across GCC countries.
